Job summary

Kraken is seeking a Compliance Professional to join the FIU SAR filing team. You will draft and file Suspicious Activity Reports with various regulators, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions in a high-volume setting.

The team

The Financial Intelligence Unit plays a critical role in protecting Kraken for financial crime. Its teams are responsible for detecting, investigating and reporting suspicious activity that may relate to money laundering and terrorist financing, supporting Kraken's business globally. Our mission is to provide an industry-leading team, who are able to identify and report emergent financial crime quickly and effectively.

This role is located within the FIU’s SAR filing team who are responsible for the drafting and submission of all Suspicious Activity Reports with relevant regional regulatory authorities following the completion of case investigations by FIU Investigators. The filing of SARs is a key regulatory requirement for Compliance.

The opportunity
  • Undertake the creation and filing of Suspicious Activity Reports with multiple regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure SAR creations and filings are completed accurately and within applicable regulatory and internal SLAs and reporting deadlines.
  • Prioritize and manage assigned caseloads to support timely completion of creations and filings and adherence to SLAs.
  • Ability to focus on multiple priorities, including, individual production efforts and ad hoc projects.
  • Utilize external portals to file SARs.
  • Follow defined SOPs in relation to this work.
  • Attend team meetings and stay up to date on developments in team and SOPs.
  • Participate in Compliance projects when requested by Team Lead.
  • Utilize the team’s tools and systems and actively use Slack, Admin, Adobe Acrobat and other tools.
  • Actively develop knowledge of criminal methods and AML typologies.
  • Stay abreast of industry standards and developments in the areas of crypto crime, compliance and BSA/AML.
What You Bring
  • Minimum two years of experience in financial services, preferably in a crypto and / or compliance role.
  • Experience working within defined operational processes and proven ability to follow written procedures.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and high volume workloads while consistently meeting defined SLAs and regulatory filing deadlines.
  • Quick to learn new processes and adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of task allocations, be proactive by taking on more when possible, and consistently deliver results in a high volume production environment.
  • CAMS certification and / or blockchain investigations accreditation(s) are a plus.
  • Ability to undertake occasional weekend / shift work is also a plus.
  • Proficient in Foreign languages such is a plus.
