Job summary

The Ned & Ned’s Club is seeking a Sushi Sous Chef for Kaia at Ned's Club Washington, DC. You will report to the Executive Sous Chef and help lead the kitchen to deliver Ned-standard sushi and hot dishes in a high-energy environment.

Ideal candidates bring strong sushi/sashimi experience, leadership ability, and a passion for quality, detail, and training teammates to maintain top safety and audit standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading in an Asian restaurant concept with a focus on sushi/sashimi.
• Strong track record of delivering outstanding food and people management.
• Ability to maintain impeccable records for safety and audit standards.
• Commercial mindset to support financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen team and work with the Executive Chef to produce Ned-standard food.
• Support and lead Kaia kitchen operations daily.
• Recruit, onboard and develop Kaia team members.
• Coach team on quality, safety, and presentation of dishes.
• Manage scheduling, food cost, waste, and menu creation as needed.
