Job summary

The Ned's Club Washington DC is seeking a Sushi Sous Chef to join Kaia, leading the kitchen team in producing exceptional sushi and related dishes. You will work under the Executive Sous Chef to ensure Ned standards in quality and presentation.

You will mentor staff, oversee day-to-day operations, uphold safety and audit compliance, and contribute to menu development while supporting the broader Ned’s Club culinary team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a culinary leadership role in an Asian restaurant concept focusing on sushi and sashimi.
• Proven track record of delivering outstanding food and people management.
• Impeccable records for safety and audit standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team in daily mise-en-place and food presentation to Ned standards.
• Support and lead kitchen operations for Kaia at Ned's Club Washington.
• Recruit, develop and conduct performance chats with the team.
• Maintain food quality and safety, coaching as needed.
• Assist with scheduling, food cost, waste and menu creation.
