Job summary

Wegmans is seeking a sushi prep associate to assist in creating fresh, high-quality sushi rolls for in-store sale and to fulfill made-to-order requests. You will learn traditional techniques alongside experienced sushi chefs in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting.

You will prepare ingredients, assist with rolls, nigiri, and sashimi, and maintain kitchen cleanliness while ensuring optimal presentation and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Food preparation experience in a kitchen setting is preferred.
• Experience working as a prep cook or apprentice cook is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, including slicing fish, cutting vegetables, and making sushi rice.
• Assist in making sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and other items per recipes and presentation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen following food safety guidelines.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment ensuring timely preparation.
• Uphold excellent food presentation and customer satisfaction.
