Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets is seeking a skilled Sous Chef to lead the Sushi department in our Restaurant Foods area. You will manage a team of cooks, ensure the highest quality fish and ingredients, and collaborate with the main Kitchen to deliver exceptional Sushi to customers.

You will oversee daily sushi operations, inspire home-chef customers with preparation tips, and help expand program offerings while maintaining consistency and visual appeal across dishes.

Qualifications

• Lead cook experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Knife handling and cutting skills.
• Experience in sushi and Japanese cuisine preferred.
• Ability to oversee daily kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Be actively involved in the day-to-day running of the Sushi kitchen operation within our elaborate Restaurant Foods Department.
• Inspire customers to prepare products successfully at home by offering meal suggestions and cooking techniques.
• Oversee the Sushi Operation to drive sales and supervise the team to maximize efficiency.
• Ensure products are prepared with consistency, high-quality and are eye-appealing to customers using Wegmans’ recipes and techniques.
• Create excitement and educate others about new programs at Wegmans.
