Job summary

Center for Family Services is hiring a SV Client Advocate in New Jersey. The role covers crisis counseling, case management, and community education, reporting to the Outreach Program Supervisor. A Bachelor’s in social services and mandated NJSERV training are required.

Salary is $25–$27 per hour with a $500 sign-on bonus for new hires. Full-time position with responsibilities across hospitals, law enforcement, and court procedures, plus outreach events and data reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or human services preferred.
• Must complete 60-hour New Jersey State Confidential Sexual Violence Advocate and Domestic Violence Response Team training.
• Experience working with people, especially one-to-one, and sensitivity to sexual violence survivors.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and public speaking are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis-intervention and counseling to individuals and families affected by sexual violence.
• Accompany individuals through procedures at hospitals, police, prosecutors, and court.
• Present educational programs in schools, community and church groups; assist outreach and events.
• Provide case management and referrals for survivors and safety planning.
• Coordinate and facilitate support groups for survivors of sexual violence.
• Respond to 24-hour hotline and provide case-related medical and legal information.
• Maintain case files per state and agency guidelines.
• Complete monthly and quarterly statistics and grant-required reports.
• Participate in community collaboration meetings and SERV and NJCASA activities.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice or Human Services
