NexGen Land Solutions in Fort Myers, FL, is seeking a Surveyor in Training (SIT) to join our production-focused drafting team. The role offers a clear path toward earning a PSM license and working under licensed surveyors, with daily mentorship and structured growth.

Ideal candidates are recent grads from surveying or civil technology or professionals with 1–3 years of experience seeking mentorship and a defined progression. This is a full-time, hybrid position with Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Florida SIT registration in hand or actively pursuing it.
• Basic understanding of surveying principles: traverses, bearings and legal descriptions.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or strong AutoCAD with willingness to learn Civil 3D quickly.

Responsibilities

• Draft boundary, topographic, and mortgage surveys in AutoCAD Civil 3D from field data.
• Process and QC raw field data, including traverse closures and control points.
• Prepare and format final survey maps and legal descriptions for review by licensed surveyors.
• Review field notes and flag data gaps requiring field follow-up.
• Collaborate with licensed surveyors who review work and provide feedback.
• Support document prep, record research, and project tracking as needed.

NexGen Land Solutions | Full-Time | Hybrid | M–F 8AM–5PM

NexGen Land Solutions is expanding our team in the Fort Myers market and looking for a Surveyor in Training (SIT) who's serious about earning their PSM license. This is a production-focused drafting and processing role with a clear path forward — the kind of position where the work you do today directly builds the skills you'll need to pass your exam and advance your career.

Whether you're a recent graduate from a surveying or civil technology program or someone with 1–3 years of experience who wants more mentorship and structure, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

• Draft boundary, topographic, and mortgage surveys in AutoCAD Civil 3D from field crew data


• Process and QC raw field data, including traverse closures and control points


• Prepare and format final survey maps and legal descriptions for licensed surveyor review


• Review field notes and identify data gaps or inconsistencies that need field crew follow-up


• Collaborate daily with licensed surveyors (PSMs) who will review your work and provide direct feedback


• Support document preparation, record research, and project tracking as needed

Who You Are

• Florida SIT registration in hand — or actively working toward it


• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (or strong AutoCAD base with willingness to learn Civil 3D fast)


• Basic understanding of surveying principles: traverses, bearings, distances, legal descriptions


• Sharp attention to detail — you catch your own mistakes before they reach review


• Coachable and self-motivated — you ask questions, take notes, and apply feedback
