Job Details

This is a key leadership role overseeing the execution of a wide range of survey projects across several neighboring states, including utility infrastructure, transportation, airports, cargo terminals, and site development.

Day to day...

• Lead the planning and execution of survey projects from initial research to final deliverables.
• Direct and support both field and office staff involved in project execution.
• Evaluate deed mosaics, resolve minor boundary discrepancies, and address closure errors.
• Review courthouse research and legal documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Analyze and verify deliverables including right-of-way plans and survey calculations.
• Manage complex GPS data collection, processing, and reporting for agency submissions.
• Provide boundary determinations in accordance with state laws and professional standards.
• Conduct site visits for project assessments, quality assurance, or coordination.
• Produce monthly progress updates and manage project timelines and budgets.
• Mentor and train assigned staff to develop technical skills and survey knowledge.
  
  

Requirements

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria

• Demonstrated experience in a survey project management or equivalent role.
• Bachelor’s degree in surveying, engineering, or a closely related field.
• 6–10 years of progressive surveying experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and related survey software.
• Strong communication, time management, and team leadership skills.
• Reliable transportation and a commitment to jobsite and office attendance as needed.
• Safety-conscious with the ability to meet agency security clearance requirements (TSA, FBI).
• Clean driving record.
  
  

Preferred Credentials

• Surveyor in Training (SIT) certification or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Pennsylvania or a neighboring state.
• Experience in utility, infrastructure, or construction-related survey work.
