CS Beatty Construction, founded in 1999, leads heavy civil projects across the Southeast. We are hiring a Surveying Assistant to support field crews and office staff in collecting, recording, and processing land survey data.

This hands-on role suits someone who enjoys outdoor work and wants a career in land surveying. You will assist with boundary and ALTA surveys, operate GPS/GNSS receivers and total stations, and help with data organization and basic drafting.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
High School diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
Must pass a physical examination, drug screen, and criminal background check
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Basic math skills, including measurements, angles, and simple geometry.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Responsibilities

Assist with boundary, topographic, construction staking, and ALTA/NSPS surveys.
Set up, operate, and maintain survey equipment, including GPS/GNSS receivers, robotic total stations, levels, and data collectors.
Locate and uncover property corners, monuments, and control points using metal detectors and hand tools.
Set stakes, hubs, iron pins, and other markers accurately according to plans.
Clear brush and line of sight using hand tools such as machetes and loppers.
Record field notes and measurements clearly and accurately.
Help download, organize, and back up field data for office processing.
Assist with basic drafting or data entry in office software as needed.
Follow all safety procedures on job sites, including traffic control and PPE requirements
