Job summary

Pinnacle Engineering Group in Illinois is seeking a motivated Survey Technician to assist licensed surveyors with field and office surveying tasks. You will collect accurate field data, operate GPS, total station, and data collectors, and support survey calculations and documentation on diverse projects.

This entry-level role offers hands-on training, growth opportunities, and exposure to transportation infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver's license.
• CST certification preferred.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize survey field equipment (GPS, total station, electronic level, data collectors).
• Learn surveying field practice and procedures from senior survey staff.
• Assist survey crews with field data collection for boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, record drawing surveys and construction staking services.
• Basic ability to read and interpret survey maps, plats and drawings.
• Record field notes, sketches, and electronic data clearly and accurately.
• Locate and mark property corners, benchmarks, and control points.
• Perform basic survey calculations and data processing under supervision.
• Assist with downloading, organizing, and reviewing field data.
