Job summary

Loenbro seeks a detail-oriented Survey Technician to support mission-critical construction projects, including hyperscale data centers and advanced manufacturing facilities. You will perform field surveying, layout verification, quality control measurements, and construction staking using Trimble survey equipment and software.

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Geomatics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of construction surveying experience required.
  • Experience with large-scale commercial/industrial projects preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Perform construction staking and layout for foundations, structural steel, equipment pads, utilities, roadways, and building components.
  • Operate and maintain Trimble total stations, GNSS/GPS receivers, robotic instruments, and data collectors.
  • Utilize Topcon survey equipment and software to process, manage, and maintain field data.
  • Interpret drawings, BIM models, civil plans, utility plans, and specs to establish control points.
  • Verify as-built conditions and conduct QA/QC surveys throughout construction.
  • Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical control networks on active sites.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and resolve layout discrepancies.
  • Generate survey reports, field notes, stakeout documentation, and as-built deliverables.
  • Assist with reality capture activities using laser scanning, GPS, and drone mapping when applicable.
  • Ensure activities align with project schedules while maintaining safety and accuracy.

Job Summary

Loenbroisseekinga detail-oriented and motivatedSurvey Technicianto support mission-critical construction projects, including hyperscale data centers, advanced manufacturing facilities, and other complex infrastructure developments. This roleis responsible forperforming field surveying, layout verification, quality control measurements, and construction staking activitiesutilizingTrimble survey equipment and software platforms.

The Survey Technician will work closely with project managers, superintendents, engineers, BIM/VDC teams, and craft professionals to ensureaccurateproject layout, alignment, and documentation throughout all phases of construction.

  • Perform construction staking and layout for foundations, structural steel, equipment pads, underground utilities, roadways, electrical infrastructure, and building components.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GEDrequired.
  • Associate degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Geomatics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum2 years of construction surveying experiencerequired.
  • Experience supporting large-scale commercial, industrial, mission-critical, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or data center construction projects preferred.
  • Working knowledge of survey principles,coordinatesystems, control networks, and construction layout procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites asrequired.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience with Trimble surveying technologies.
  • Proficiencywith:
  • Trimble Business Center (TBC)
  • Trimble Siteworks
  • Trimble Access
  • Trimble GNSS/GPS Systems
  • Robotic Total Stations
  • Experience integrating survey data with BIM/VDC workflows and Autodesk platforms.
  • Familiarity with data center construction, electrical infrastructure, and mission-critical facilities.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.

  • Strong understanding of construction surveying methods and best practices.
  • High attention to detail with exceptional measurement accuracy.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, andlifting upto 50 pounds.
  • Ability to travel to construction sites nationwide asrequired.
  • Must wearrequiredpersonal protective equipment (PPE) and comply withall safety regulations.
  • Ability to safely navigate active construction sites, including mission-critical and industrial environments.
