Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Survey Technician to assist the Survey Crew Chief in field operations including route, topographic, boundary, ALTA/ACSM, construction staking and right-of-way staking. You will collect data and maintain field notes.

You will be responsible for using total stations, GPS equipment and data collectors, working outdoors in all weather, and coordinating with field and office staff to ensure quality services. A valid Indiana driver's license is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; strong field work skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Survey Crew Chief in field work for route, topographic, boundary, ALTA/ACSM, construction staking and R/W staking surveys
  • Perform project research
  • Perform reconnaissance for all pertinent survey control information
  • Collect and layout accurate survey data for route, topographic, boundary, ALTA/ACSM, construction staking and R/W staking surveys
  • Accurately record field notes in a field book
  • Assist in downloading and uploading information to data collectors
  • Communicate with field and office staff to provide quality services
  • Maintain all field equipment and vehicle
  • Maintain confidentiality of information regarding clients and company practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Duties
  • Assist Survey Crew Chief in performing field work for route, topographic, boundary, ALTA/ACSM, construction staking and R/W staking surveys
  • Perform project research
  • Perform reconnaissance for all pertinent survey control information
  • Collect and Layout accurate survey data for route, topographic, boundary, ALTA/ACSM, construction staking and R/W staking surveys
  • Accurately record field notes in a field book
  • Assist in downloading and uploading information to data collectors
  • Communicate with field and office staff to provide quality services
  • Maintain all field equipment and vehicle
  • Maintain confidentiality of information regarding clients and company practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Skills

Requirements
Physical Requirements
  • Able to work 9 or more hours per work day
  • Able to work 40 or more hours per work week, as needed
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions traversing uneven or difficult terrain while carrying survey equipment
  • Able to drive survey vehicle
  • Able to drive rebar, lath, stakes and/or hubs into the ground as needed
  • Able to dig and/or probe into pavement or ground for pertinent survey information
  • Able to lift utility structure lids or covers
Other Requirements
  • Possess a valid Indiana Driver’s License
  • Maintain compliance for MICCS program
  • Agree to abide by the personnel policies identified in the Company Policy
