Job description

Arora and Associates, PC is seeking a Survey Technician to join our Land Surveying Department in Lawrenceville, NJ. Applicant must be a responsible, motivated, detail-oriented individual with strong technical and computer skills, and able to work in a team environment in the office and in the field.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in planning, organizing and directing survey crew work
  2. Keep accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe work performed
  3. Reduce field notes
  4. Supervise the maintenance of instruments and equipment
  5. Reduce and analyze GNSS data for control networks
  6. Import field and analyze field data
  7. Register and extract data from point clouds
  8. Adjust conventional traverse and digital level data
  9. Prepare control and survey reports
  10. Prepare survey related plans meeting department and client specifications
  11. Coordinate with CAD technicians, other surveyors, and department manager to prepare the final deliverable
  12. Three to five years of experience doing the following:
    • Operation of survey equipment such as total stations, data collectors, levels and (GPS)
    • Using software to download survey data from data collectors
    • Using survey adjustment software (Trimble Business Center and Leica Infinity)
    • Analyzing and extracting data from point clouds
    • Using Microstation with InRoads or AutoCAD Civil3D
    • Route surveying using various methods
  13. Familiar with NJDOT or similar state agency survey standards
  14. Familiar with USGS and NGS survey standards
  15. Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  16. Ability to work on construction sites in NJ weather
  17. Willing and able to work overtime and to travel for out-of-town assignments
  18. A valid driver's license
