Overview

SURVEY PROJECT MANAGER (RPLS)

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey Project Manager to join our team. The Survey Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, quality assurance/quality control, and completion of professional survey services. Additionally, the role includes training and mentoring junior staff, ensuring client satisfaction, and supporting business development under the guidance of the Survey and Market Leaders within the Region and Division.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage project tasks, schedules, and resource requirements.
  • Oversee project budgets, analyze profitability, revenue, margins, billing rates, and utilization.
  • Conduct team meetings to evaluate and coordinate project progress.
  • Stay current on service-specific trends, technology, software, hardware, and equipment; drive value through innovation.
  • Collaborate with the Survey Service Leader to establish, implement, monitor, and maintain procedures and quality standards for the survey group.
  • Ensure survey work products are consistent in appearance and delivered efficiently.
  • Coordinate with Survey Service and Market Leaders on staffing, utilization, and workload management.
  • Support growth of Westwood’s land survey presence through strategic pursuits of large projects.
  • Contribute to office and market-based business development by providing technical expertise and generating revenue.
  • Build and maintain a strong survey culture aligned with company values and strategic goals.
  • Ensure compliance with division, regional, and company policies and practices.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating good judgment, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
Required Experience
  • Professional Survey License required; non-licensed candidates will be evaluated based on relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of land surveying and experience supporting civil engineering projects.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the land surveying industry.
  • Solid project management background.
  • Effective verbal communication and independent judgment skills.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects effectively.
