Survey Project Manager - Land Development

Job Description

Dewberry is looking for an energetic Professional Land Surveyor - Land Development to work collaboratively with survey leadership on various land surveying and civil engineering tasks in our Orlando, FL or Panama City, FL offices.

Responsibilities
  • Consult with clients.
  • Partner with leadership to strengthen Florida survey operations and provide strategic guidance to the Sarasota survey office.
  • Collaborate with other offices across the Southeast.
  • Oversee survey aspects of civil engineering projects and prepare survey plans.
  • Train field staff in land surveying procedures.
  • Prepare weekly schedules for survey crews.
  • Coordinate with utility providers and Sunshine One Call.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Prepare proposals and contracts.
  • Manage and coordinate projects with team members.
  • Prepare ROW plans and agreements.
  • Oversee CAD processes and ensure quality assurance.
  • Perform survey computations and data collection.
  • Conduct fieldwork related to land surveying, engineering, and construction projects.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Florida or ability to obtain Florida PLS within six months.
  • At least 5 years of professional land surveying experience, including project management.
  • AAS or BS Degree in Surveying preferred.
  • Proven ability to build client relationships in surveying and mapping.
  • Effective team-building skills.
  • Experience with FDOT projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, including report writing.
  • Experience with Boundary Surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, and As-built plans.
  • Knowledge of Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
  • Willingness to work out of town if necessary; flexible with work areas.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record; ability to pass drug screening.
