We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented Survey Project Manager to oversee the comprehensive execution of survey projects while ensuring technical excellence, client satisfaction, and division profitability. In this key leadership role, you will serve as a vital link across internal teams, field crews, and external stakeholders throughout the entire project lifecycle. You will combine financial acumen with technical direction to manage all financial, operational, and personnel aspects of your assigned projects while driving organizational growth.

Travel Expectations: While this is an office-based leadership position, candidates must be able to work on Continental United States (CONUS) infrastructure projects and be flexible to travel to project sites, attend client meetings, or coordinate field operations.
As a Survey Project Manager, you will lead the full lifecycle of survey projects, including crafting detailed proposals, setting project schedules, managing profit margins, and ensuring rigorous quality assurance. You will oversee the monthly financial health by performing pre-bill reconciliations, tracking project performance metrics, managing sub-consultants, and collaborating with accounting on billing and accounts receivable.
Your daily operational responsibilities include assigning project teams, supervising multiple survey crews, and training survey technicians in both surveying theory and practical field applications. You will cultivate strong, long-term client relationships and actively participate in business development to secure new work. Additionally, you will coordinate with state and local municipalities on certifications and permits, recruit, hire, and mentor staff, and ensure that company QA/QC procedures and safety standards are strictly maintained throughout all project phases.
A Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Survey Engineering or Geomatics from an ABET-accredited curriculum is preferred, along with active PLS or LSIT licensure (or a commitment to pursuing licensure). Candidates should bring a minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in Survey Project Management, including proven experience supervising multiple survey crews and managing project financials. Candidates must demonstrate strong business development capabilities, excellent negotiation skills, and technical proficiency in civil engineering and surveying principles.
A valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are mandatory. Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and standard 7-year background check, as well as possess the ability to work on CONUS-based projects and travel as needed for client and project site visits.
This position involves frequent sitting for extended periods while executing project management, financial reconciliation, and administrative duties. Physical demands include the ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Work is performed primarily indoors in a professional, collaborative office environment, with necessary travel time spent visiting client offices, municipal centers, or active project sites.
