Job description

MJ is a multi-disciplined engineering firm located in Clifton Park, New York with a staff of more than 175 professional architects, landscape architects, engineers, planners and surveyors. We have been in business for more than 46 years with a focus on municipal, state, federal, and private development projects. Over the last several years, MJ has been awarded several multi-year term survey contracts with state and federal government agencies. We are currently looking for a survey project manager to join our expanding survey group and maintain and grow the department.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to understand the scope of projects
• Develop meeting minutes
• Review budget adherence throughout the project
• Perform quality control review on reports, plans, specifications, and other contract documents prepared by others for accuracy and completeness.
• Ability to review and work within Bluebeam, AutoCAD and MicroStation
• Provide assistance to staff in the preparation of reports/findings, plans, and other contract documents.
• Organize and coordinate the work of field and office staff required to complete design, field and/or other tasks.
• Assist in the preparation of project/task work plans.
• Provide directions to staff to complete project objectives.
• Monitor the work efforts of assigned staff including sub-consultants and/or contractors.
• Ability to analyze and prepare complete boundary survey is preferred. This includes compiling record data and providing sound analysis and reason for accurate property line location.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in surveying technology, bachelor’s degree in civil engineering technology, associate’s degree in construction technology, or related field preferred
• 4+ years of experience in land surveying, engineering or construction required
• Must have managed design and construction projects for a minimum of two years
• Professional licensure strongly encouraged
• Ability to travel within a six-hour radius
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or be eligible to work without an employer sponsorship
