Job summary

A leading project management firm is seeking a Survey Project Manager in Massachusetts. This full-time role requires a minimum of five years of survey experience and strong communication and team leadership skills. You will perform field surveys, manage multiple projects, and ensure data quality. The position involves overseeing project documentation, communicating with clients, and requires proficiency in AutoCAD and survey calculation software. Some travel around New England is expected.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with MA Land Survey requirements.

Position: Survey Project Manager

Preferred Qualifications
  • Five or more years of survey experience on complex boundary or construction projects
  • Advanced survey knowledge with a civil engineering or survey engineering degree, SIT, EIT, PE, or PLS preferred
  • Good communication and documentation skills
  • Team leadership with strong inter‑personnel management skills
  • Commitment to data quality and high‑quality collection
  • Ability to work independently and stay organized
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and clients concurrently
Responsibilities
  • Perform field surveys and/or survey calculations and reports
  • Oversee and maintain project documentation, history, changes, contacts, and technical files
  • Brief survey crews and support personnel on project requirements
  • Support and oversee safety of all survey and construction operational tasks
  • Track progress and status of assigned projects, exceeding client expectations
  • Assist the Survey Group Manager with scheduling personnel and informing of major issues
  • Communicate with clients regarding scheduling or scope changes
  • Attend on‑site meetings with clients and staff
  • Facilitate proposals for existing clients and new projects
  • Support survey marketing and new business development as requested
  • Review field and office work for accuracy and completeness
  • Share and disseminate survey‑related best practices
  • Train, assist, and enforce DGT policies and procedures
  • Safeguard DGT tools, equipment, and supplies and enforce site security
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of complex boundary or construction survey experience
  • Preferred civil engineering or survey engineering degree; or pursuing professional licensure
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Carlson, and/or survey calculation software
  • Proficiency with MA Land Survey requirements
  • Detail‑oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to work in the Boston area with occasional travel to New England
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification, or willingness to obtain certification
