The State of North Carolina is seeking a Survey Party Chief for the Smithfield Resident's Office. This role involves performing complex survey work, supervising teams, and ensuring compliance with construction plans. Position will serve as Survey Party Chief in the Smithfield Resident’s Office.
Your work will include performing survey work on complex construction projects, supervising survey crews and lower-level technicians, making independent decisions, and communicating effectively with co-workers, contractor's personnel, and the general public.
You will be responsible for reviewing the contractor’s survey submittals and providing checks of their construction layouts in the field.
You must have the ability to read, interpret, and explain such things as construction plans, contract provisions, and specification/inspection procedures.
In this position you will be exposed to outside environmental hazards, confined areas, and may be required to work at night and on weekends. Safety Toe Shoes required.

Associate’s degree in an applicable area of Engineering Technology or Survey Technology from an appropriately accredited institution and seven years of progressive technician experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
