The Survey Chief will lead field survey teams on the I-95 MM 0-8 Project. This position plays a key role in supporting a variety of civil engineering and construction initiatives, including roadway, bridge, utility, and site development work.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land surveying, a hands‑on leadership style, and the technical acumen to ensure precision and compliance across all field operations.
For positions involving field work, completion of OSHA 10 certification is required as a condition of employment. New hires without current certification must complete the training within two (2) weeks of hire. ICE will provide the training and cover associated costs.
The role involves moderate physical activity such as walking, standing, bending, and climbing stairs or ladders. Employees may occasionally lift objects weighing up to 80 pounds.
It is essential for employees to navigate construction sites skillfully and conduct thorough inspections of materials and structures.
Employees must have the ability to visually discern and differentiate details and colors of objects, and proficiency in recognizing sound, tone, and pitch. Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
The role demands adaptability to interruptions and changes in workflow, as well as the capacity to sit for extended periods. Employees must be capable of working in varied environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and noisy settings, and be able to stand and walk during site visits.
Additionally, working on construction projects may involve night work and weekend work depending on the project scope and may include working in conditions with active traffic.
