Job summary

Advanced Civil Design, Inc. in Cary, North Carolina, seeks an experienced Survey Manager to lead land surveying projects and develop client relationships.

You will coordinate schedules, budgets, field crews, and technical staff to ensure accurate data, regulatory compliance, and high-quality deliverables. Responsibilities include mentoring field staff, reviewing surveys, and preparing proposals while coordinating with municipalities and utilities.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of surveying experience, including project management responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Professional Surveyor license preferred.
• Strong knowledge of boundary, construction, topographic, and other land surveying practices.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple surveying projects including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, utility, ROW, and subdivision surveys.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Direct and support field survey crews and technical staff.
• Review field data, survey calculations, plats, legal descriptions, and mapping products.
• Prepare proposals, fee estimates, and project contracts.
• Serve as primary contact for clients and project stakeholders.
• Resolve technical surveying challenges and coordinate with municipalities and utility companies.
• Support business development, networking, client presentations, and project growth.
• Mentor and develop survey technicians.
