Job summary

Synerfac Technical Staffing is seeking a Survey Field Technician for a well-established civil engineering and design firm in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia. This role supports field operations and drafts, data processing, and field notes.

You will gain experience in office and field environments, assisting with CADD drafting, stakeouts, basemapping, and boundary surveys while supporting diverse infrastructure and site development projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of land surveying or related field.
• Familiar with AutoCAD Civil3D 2024 and Carlson Survey.
• Interest in additional software like MicroStation, drone processing, and HD laser scanning.
• Willingness to work in outdoor field conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and technical proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist with CADD drafting and prepare record and easement plats.
• Perform survey stakeout computations, cutsheet preparation, and post-processing of field data.
• Support the creation of basemapping and drafting for topographic and boundary surveys.
• Draft as-built plans and prepare associated survey exhibits.
• Reduce and check field notes for quality assurance.
• Conduct deed and easement research to support property boundary determinations.
• Assist with computations of base files and layout information.
• Provide field support as needed on survey crews, with potential hands-on use of GPS and total station equipment.
