Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Survey Crew Member II to support a Land Survey crew in the field. The role involves outdoor work, data collection, and collaboration with the Party Chief on topographic, boundary, and ALTA surveys.

The candidate should have 2+ years of survey experience or be ready to learn, with a 6:30 a.m. start, overtime and travel up to two weeks. A valid driver’s license is required and lifting up to 50 pounds may be necessary.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a Survey Instrument Operator (land development, boundary, design, topographic, and ALTA surveys).
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license; ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying/extreme weather; 6:30 a.m. start in Austin, TX.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and work overtime/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate robotic, conventional, and GPS survey equipment to collect accurate topographic features and boundary evidence.
• Assist the Party Chief on land development, boundary, design, topographic, and ALTA surveys.
• Collect high-quality field data with accuracy, precision, and completeness.
• Follow written and verbal instructions from the Party Chief and project leadership.
• Safely transport, set up, and maintain tripods, rods, prisms, and other survey equipment.
• Record and organize field data; review data before submission.
• Travel to project sites; work with Halff teams to meet deadlines.
