Your Impact at SAM

1. Oversee the daily field operations of a land survey crew.
2. Determine the most efficient plan of action for data acquisition during field surveys, from primary control to construction layout and as-built surveys.
3. Proficiently document work performed and create sketches.
4. Communicate daily with the Project Surveyor and technician regarding project schedules and progress.
5. Interact professionally with client representatives and landowners.
6. Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, understanding survey project tolerances.
7. Prepare daily reports, timesheets, and other necessary paperwork.
8. Maintain land surveying vehicles and field equipment.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to SAM

1. 5+ years of industry experience; prior crew chief experience preferred.
2. Competent in operating total stations, GNSS receivers, data collectors, and tablet PCs.
3. Experience with Trimble equipment is preferred.
4. Strong computer and technical skills.
5. Excellent communication skills—listening, writing, and verbal.
6. Proven work ethic, team-player attitude, and reliable work history.
7. Ability to travel for extended periods.
8. Ability to work in all-weather conditions.
9. Capable of walking long distances over various terrains and carrying up to 80 lbs.
10. Valid driver's license required.
