Job summary

Westlake Consultants Inc is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to lead field operations for the Industrial Measurement Division in Tigard, OR, with travel to client sites across the US. You will mentor IMD staff, supervise field crews, and ensure data integrity on complex projects.

The role requires extensive surveying expertise, strong QA practices, and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time. A driver’s license and ability to badge for restricted sites are required.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience as an Instrument Technician, field procedures for data collection, and crew support.
  • Intermediate skills in construction layout, calculations, and as-built surveying.
  • Intermediate skills using survey equipment and software including survey instruments, data collectors, electronic levels, and 3D scanners.
  • Demonstrated history of careful implementation of QA procedures.
  • Detailed and legible note-keeping techniques.
  • A genuine aptitude for geometry and problem-solving; prior experience in precise surveying is valuable; some experience with AutoCAD is beneficial.
  • Ability to be badged for work in sensitive/restricted areas; requires a valid driver’s license; travel availability within US and overseas.

We are seeking Survey Crew Chiefs to join our specialty Industrial Measurement Division (IMD). This team performs state-of-the-art industrial surveying for an array of diverse clients from high-tech, manufacturing and fabrication facilities to the marine industry.

As a Crew Chief, you will mentor other IMD staff while working on a variety of challenging projects. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute at a high level within a company culture that supports work / life balance. This position will require travel to client sites located outside of Oregon for weeks at a time or potentially longer.

Job Type: Full-time, at client worksite

Relocation assistance available for employees looking to relocate, or per diem and additional bonus pay for employees working outside of Oregon while maintaining residency in Oregon.

Qualifications

  • Ability to be badged for work in sensitive/restricted areas (i.e., drug testing, background screening);
  • A valid driver’s license (a valid state‑issued license is required at time of hire);
  • Ability to work extended hours (schedule occasionally requires 10-hour shift and/or Saturday work);
  • Availability for travel within the United States and/or overseas.
