Job summary

South Dakota Department of Transportation in Mobridge, SD seeks a Survey Crew Chief to perform engineering surveys for construction and highway design. You will create preliminary topographic and drainage surveys, submit files and provide construction staking for highway projects.

The role requires outdoor work in all weather, strong attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate assets inventories and survey data for project quantities. A valid driver license is required.

Qualifications

• current survey practices (GPS, robotic total station).
• Principles, theories and practices of highway/road engineering (preferred).
• Trimble survey equipment and software (preferred).
• Microstation and Inroads applications (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering surveys for construction purposes and provide survey information for highway design.
• Create preliminary/topographic/ drainage/ resurfacing/ bridge deck elevation/ encroachment surveys and submit survey files.
• Provide construction staking and data for asset inventories to identify type, location and condition of assets.
