Survey Crew Chief

Overview

As a Survey Crew Chief for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will work both independently and with crew members conducting construction field surveys related to boundary surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title surveys, topographic surveys, photo control surveys, route surveys, and construction stakeout under the supervision of a Registered Professional Land Surveyor. You will be responsible for the efficient operation of the field crew, adhering to standard operating procedures and health and safety standards on active construction projects. Daily duties include operating robotic total stations and GPS receivers to accurately collect data, maintaining equipment, and supporting the crew with tasks such as cutting brush, driving stakes, and recording detailed notes. You must have your own transportation.

Qualifications
  • 5-8 years' construction-related survey crew chief experience
  • Skilled in the use of GPS devices, data collectors, and Total Stations
  • Experience with Trimble and Access software
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative
  • Knowledge of land surveying principles, techniques, and practices
  • Extensive background in construction surveying, staking, and proper procedures
  • Knowledge of computer-aided drafting principles, practices, and instruments
  • Understanding of safe workplace principles and practices specific to the industry
  • Ability to operate motorized equipment
  • Ability to work outdoors under various conditions
  • Valid Driver's License
