Job summary

McKim & Creed, Inc. is seeking a field survey crew supervisor to organize field operations, direct crews, and ensure safe, accurate data collection across Louisiana and the Southeast Region.

Responsibilities include delivering data to the office, maintaining records, and managing budgets and schedules. The role requires 3–10+ years in survey field operations with at least 1 year as crew chief, proficiency with total stations, data collectors, GPS, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 3–10+ years progressive field operations experience with at least 1 year as crew chief
• Experience performing Construction Staking, Topographic and Boundary Surveying for Civil Site Land Development
• Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable MVR

Responsibilities

• Operate field survey crews and organize field work in Louisiana or Southeast Region
• Ensure quality, safety, schedule, budget adherence, and client responsiveness
• Collect field data, locate features, and deliver data to the office; maintain records of work and expenses
• Walk extensively outdoors in varied terrain and extreme weather

Job description

OVERVIEW

This person is responsible for the operation of a field survey crew. Organize field work, direct crew members, maintain a safe work environment, protect and maintain the equipment and vehicles, accurately and efficiently collect field data and locating features, deliver data to the office, maintain accurate records of work and expenses. Will work primarily in the Louisiana or Southeast Region.

WHAT YOU NEED

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3-10+ years progressive experience in survey field operations with no less than 1 year as a survey crew chief
• Experienced performing Construction Staking, Topographic and Boundary Surveying for Civil Site Land Development.
• Good technical skills: behavioral traits of process oriented, steady, helpful, analytical, problem solver, likes work alone when required, methodical, consistent, detail oriented, precise, hates mistakes, likes structure.
• Proficiency with survey equipment (total stations, data collectors and GPS equipment).
• Some overnight travel may be required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.

• Be responsible for the operation of field survey crews working primarily on projects in Louisiana or Southeast Region).
