Join our dynamic team as a Survey Crew Chief and play a vital role in our construction surveying division, consisting of 20 skilled professionals. We are seeking to expand our team by hiring three Survey Crew Chiefs who will contribute to design surveys, land transactions, and transfers. Initially, you will be engaged in topographic and boundary surveys during a nine-month contract period, with the potential to perform ALTA surveys upon permanent employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct topographic and boundary surveys.
• Perform construction layout surveys.
• Collaborate with an Instrument Operator in a two-person crew and occasionally work independently.
• Utilize Trimble equipment, including GPS base and rover units, VRS networks, robotic total stations, digital levels, TSC7 data collectors, and TBC processing software.
  
  

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Survey Crew Chief.
• Experience with construction layout, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and ALTA surveys.
• Proficiency in civil survey, topography, total station, GPS, land survey, and boundary survey software.
  
  

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to pass a drug test, and MVR check.
• Good driving record.
  
  

Work Environment

This role involves working outdoors on survey projects, traveling directly from home to job sites in Central Indiana. There is minimal overnight travel involved, typically no more than 5-7 nights, one night at a time. You will enjoy autonomy in your work, with the option to come into the office for meetings when necessary. The schedule includes a Saturday rotation, working one Saturday per month, with flexibility to switch with other crew chiefs. Expect to start around 7:30 AM, with earlier starts possible during summer months. Current crew chiefs average 45-50 hours per week, with potential for overtime, particularly in the summer.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
