Survey Crew Chief

We are seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead field crews and deliver accurate, efficient surveying services throughout New Jersey and the surrounding region. Join a team that provides the resources, training, and support needed to succeed.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead survey field crews performing boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, utility, as-built, and construction layout surveys.
- Plan daily fieldwork, review project documents, establish survey control, perform field calculations, and verify data accuracy.
- Operate robotic total stations, GNSS equipment, digital levels, data collectors, scanners, and related surveying technology.
- Prepare accurate field notes and documentation, maintain equipment, mentor field technicians, and communicate field issues to Survey Project Managers.
Job Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive land surveying field experience, including independent survey crew leadership.
- Strong knowledge of boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, utility, as-built, and construction surveys, with the ability to interpret deeds, plans, maps, and specifications.
- Proficiency with modern surveying equipment and the ability to perform field calculations, evaluate survey control, and identify potential boundary or field conflicts.
- Valid driver's license, willingness to travel throughout New Jersey and surrounding areas, ability to lift 50+ pounds, work outdoors in varying conditions, and work overtime or occasional overnight assignments as needed.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with AutoCAD, Carlson, Civil 3D, Leica, or similar surveying software and equipment.
- Associate or bachelor's degree, CST/SIT certification, or related professional training and development.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range - 75-90k
