Job summary

McKim & Creed, Inc. is seeking a Survey CAD Technician II in Charlotte, NC. You will work with the geospatial team to produce maps and drawings, handling field data processing, CAD production, and quality checks.

Qualifications

• 2 - 8+ years of drafting experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey computation.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018 is required.
• Good technical skills with detail orientation and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and organization skills; able to balance multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Produce maps and drawings with the PLS Survey Manager team.
• Coordinate maps and drawings to meet quality, budget and schedule requirements.
• Download/upload field data and perform technical production of maps using various software.
• Verify accuracy and clarity prior to submission.

WHAT YOU NEED:

• 2 - 8+ years of drafting experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D, processing survey computation, Trimble Business Center, Data Processing, GPS, Boundary surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title surveys, Topographic surveys, Utility Route surveys and Construction Staking.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018 knowledge required.
• Good technical skills; behavioral traits of process oriented, steady, helpful, analytical, problem solver, methodical, consistent, detail oriented, precise, hates mistakes, likes structure.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
• The ability to balance multiple work assignments on multiple projects at the same time is required.
• The ability to work alone but also effectively as part of a team is required.
• Requires process-oriented thinking with strong organizational and technical skills.
• Requires excellent communication, and the ability to take and understand directives.
• The ability to complete work consistently, with moderate flexibility to accommodate varying project demands is required.
• Candidates are required to have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record as determined by McKim & Creed.
• Candidates are required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

YOUR DAY-DAY WILL INCLUDE:

• Working with PLS Survey Manager & Team you will be responsible for the production of maps and drawings.
• Coordinate the production of maps and drawings to cover all details so that the quality is present and budgets and schedules are met.
• Responsible for downloading/uploading field data, technical production of maps and drawings using various software platforms, communicating with project team.
• Ensures quality of work by verifying its accuracy, thoroughness, and clarity prior to submission.
• Meets project deadlines, ensures budgets are aligned, remains responsive to clients, and ensures proper communication with the project team.
• Manages CAD drawing files for production, deliverables, and archiving.
• Prepares drawings for various members of the project team.
• Coordinates with others outside of the project team as necessary for project development.
• Performs other miscellaneous technical and non-technical duties as assigned.
• On occasion, fieldwork may be required. Those duties would include observation of sitework.
