Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Survey CAD Technician to join our Columbus office. The role involves preparing survey drawings, plats, boundary exhibits, topographic maps, and construction documents using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

This onsite position offers opportunities to work with licensed engineers and learn industry standards. Responsibilities include drafting surveys, processing field data, and reviewing project documentation while coordinating with crews and managers to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Degree in survey, civil engineering, or related field is a plus.
• High school diploma is required.
• Desire to learn and grow a career within land surveying.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing survey drawings and exhibits using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Draft boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, easement exhibits, legal descriptions, and construction staking plans.
• Process and incorporate field survey data collected by survey crews, GPS equipment, and total stations.
• Create survey plats, right-of-way exhibits, as-built drawings, and record drawings.
• Review survey notes, sketches, deeds, plats, and other project documentation, and maintain electronic project files and survey databases.
• Coordinate with survey crews and project managers to ensure accuracy and completeness of deliverables.
• Perform quality checks on drawings and survey calculations.
• Support project teams in meeting deadlines and client expectations.
• Learn industry standards, survey methodologies, and local jurisdictional requirements.
