Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey CAD Technician with a strong background in land surveying and CAD design.

The role focuses on processing field data, drafting plans, and creating 3D models using MicroStation and AutoCAD to support various survey projects. You will collaborate with designers, project managers, and survey crews to ensure accuracy, adherence to standards, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CAD and survey software experience.
• 5+ years land surveying experience.
• 1+ year field and office surveying with AutoCAD.
• Experience with GDOT standards and processes.
• Knowledge of survey software and equipment.
• 1 year MicroStation experience preferred.
• Associates degree in Technical Drafting preferred.
• Ability to work with the Survey Team - Project Managers, Survey Crews, PLS, etc.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Process field survey data using MicroStation and AutoCAD to create survey drawings.
• Develop 3D terrain models from field data for engineering design using InRoads/OpenRoads or similar software.
• Draft and design for various land surveying projects while adhering to CAD standards, including GDOT requirements.
• Collaborate with designers and project managers to deliver accurate and efficient results.
• Ensure field crews collect required data by maintaining communication and coordination.
• Prepare and compile information for plans, as-builts, and final plats.
• Revise plats and drawings based on feedback and red-lines from supervisors.
• Assist in preparing preliminary layouts, specifications, and documentation for survey projects.
• Conduct basic surveys (closings, foundations, elevation certificates).
• Occasionally assist in the field to verify drawings against conditions.
• Maintain accuracy by checking calculations and worksheets.
• Support office staff, clients, and cross-department teams.
• Develop technical skills while fostering team growth.

Accura Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Survey CAD Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land surveying and CAD design, along with proficiency in survey software and tools.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Process daily field survey data using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD to create high-quality survey drawings.
• Develop 3D digital terrain models from field data for engineering design using InRoads/OpenRoads or similar software.
• Draft and design for various land surveying projects while adhering to CAD standards, including compliance with GDOT requirements.
• Collaborate closely with a team of designers and project managers to deliver accurate and efficient results.
• Ensure field crews collect the necessary data by maintaining strong communication and coordination.
• Prepare and compile detailed information for plans, as-builts, and final plats.
• Revise and refine plats and drawings based on feedback and red-line comments from supervisors.
• Assist in preparing preliminary layouts, specifications, and documentation for survey projects.
• Conduct basic surveys, such as closings, foundations, and elevation certificates.
• Occasionally assist in the field to verify drawings against actual conditions and advance toward professional certification.

Education/Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• 5+ years of CAD and survey software experience
• 5+ years of land surveying experience
• Minimum of 1 year of field and office surveying experience, with hands-on expertise in AutoCAD.
• Experience with GDOT standards and processes
• Experience with survey software and equipment is essential.
• At least 1 year of experience using MicroStation software (preferred).
• Knowledge of technical drafting, with an Associate Degree in Technical Drafting or a related field preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with the Survey Team - Project Managers, Survey Crews, Professional Land Surveyors (PLS), etc
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other business software.
• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team.
