Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Survey CAD Technician to support a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor or Survey Project Manager in preparing topographic maps and boundary surveys.

You will work with CAD files to prepare field crews for construction staking and build 3D site models for stakeout and machine control guidance. The role is primarily office-based with occasional field work, leveraging Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil 3D to process data and produce

Qualifications

• Requires experience processing survey data and building 3D site models using Trimble Business Center.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
• Experience in construction staking and construction layout is preferred.
• Field survey experience is a plus.
• Experience processing aerial photography and LiDAR is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare topographic survey maps, boundary surveys, subdivision plans, exhibits, and existing condition base drawings.
• Support survey field crews for construction staking.
• Build, check and modify 3D site models for stakeout and machine control guidance.
• Mostly office-based work with occasional field activity.

Job description

As a Survey CAD Technician for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll demonstrate excellent attention to detail throughout the survey process to assist a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor or Survey Project Manager to prepare topographic survey maps, boundary surveys, subdivision plans, and various exhibits and existing conditions base drawing. You will also use construction plans and CAD files to prepare the survey field crews to perform construction staking. You will also build, check and modify digital terrain models (3D site models) for construction stakeout and machine control guidance. The majority of your time will be spent in the office, but occasional field work may occur.

• Experience processing survey data and building 3D site models with Trimble Business Center
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
• Experience in construction staking and construction layout
• Experience conducting field surveys a plus
• Experience processing aerial photography and terrestrial or aerial LiDAR a plus
