Job summary

Kansas Crossing Casino + Hotel is seeking a Surveillance Technician to maintain, test and repair all surveillance equipment, including CCTV and electronic security devices, to ensure proper operation across the property.

Responsibilities

  • Attend daily briefings and meetings on time.
  • Install and maintain CCTV cameras, recording devices, expansion equipment, and related wiring; ensure proper functioning.
  • Repair damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with Gaming Commission rules and required coverage.
  • Implement preventative maintenance to prevent system failures.
  • Maintain and program matrix switch for monitors and cameras.
  • Inspect power supply and wiring; identify and correct problems.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies and restock as needed.
  • Consult with management and vendors on equipment needs for surveillance operations.
  • Participate in departmental meetings to facilitate information flow.
  • Contribute to projects to help the department meet objectives.
  • Report information necessary for efficient casino operation to senior management.

The Surveillance Technician is responsible for the testing, alignment, repair, and proper operation of all surveillance equipment on property, including closed circuit televisions and electronic security devices.

General Accountabilities

The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this class and are not all-inclusive:

  • Attend daily briefings and meeting, being on time and participating in a positive manner.
  • Install and maintain all closed circuit television cameras, recording devices, expansion equipment, and related wiring on property. Ensure all surveillance equipment is functioning properly.
  • Repair damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all rules and regulations of the Gaming Commission and ensures strict adherence as it relates to surveillance equipment capabilities and required coverage.
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs designed to eliminate system failures.
  • Maintain and program computer-controlled matrix switch supporting the monitors and cameras.
  • Inspect power supply and wiring to all surveillance equipment, identifying and correcting any potential problems.
  • Ensure that the appropriate inventory of equipment and supplies is kept on hand at all times, and orders and re-stocks same, as needed.
  • Consult with management and vendors on specific types of equipment needed for certain surveillance operations.
  • Facilitate the flow of information throughout the department by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
  • Work on actual projects or service to help achieve the objectives of the department.
  • Inform senior management team of information necessary to the efficient operation of the casino.
  • Conduct him/her in a gracious, kind and warm manner that creates a sense of fondness, as well as professional, courteous and responsive manner, which reflects positively on the company and its core values of Fun, Family and Community.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management.

Must Have Ability To
  • Regularly walk and work on feet to complete assigned shifts; talk and hear.

  • Interpret and follow through on instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of Team Members as well as outside contacts.
  • Be flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekend hours and overtime needed.
  • Be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces
Job Qualifications

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Knowledge of video repair and maintenance techniques. Good dexterity is needed for installation and adjustment of cameras and use of hand tools. These skills are typically acquired through a minimum of three years surveillance technician experience or related field. Ability to read, analyze, interpret and comprehend technical procedures, government regulations, instructions, and correspondence/memos; write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers or staff, guests and the general public. Maintain confidential information.

Compliance Responsibilities

In addition to the other duties described herein, each and every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
  • Obtain required license(s).
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department.
  • Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with the state regulations and Systems of Internal Controls.
  • Takes the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
  • Reports any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member that they have knowledge of.
