Job summary

Amentum is seeking Field Support Technicians to support the SURTASS program based at JEB Little Creek, Virginia Beach, VA. The role requires domestic and international travel as needed to ensure SURTASS systems remain ready and operational.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, maintenance, installations, documentation in JSN/MSC systems, and training shipboard technicians. Candidates may deploy up to 3 months for CONUS/OCONUS needs and must possess or be able to obtain DoD clearance.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Technology, or technical related field with five or more years of experience.
• Possess or ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance, with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance on hire.
• Ability to obtain a valid U.S. passport.
• Understanding of 3M maintenance system and open architecture concepts.
• Ability to train shipboard electronic maintenance technicians.
• Able to pass a mariner’s physical and maintain medical fitness.
• Valid driver’s license with potential to obtain international driving permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for SURTASS mission systems, including troubleshooting, repairs, testing, and documentation.
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and repairs on SURTASS equipment and pier-side gear.
• Complete hardware/software installations, test system performance, and verify readiness.
• Log actions in JSN/MSC WKRQ system with thorough documentation.
• Review and update technical manuals and maintenance procedures for accuracy.
• Conduct TL-29A system grooming and module balancing as part of routine maintenance.
• Deliver in-port refresher training to shipboard technicians.
