Job summary

SIGMA Group's SIGMA Surplus division in Evansville, IN, seeks a detail-oriented teammate to sort inbound items, itemize products, and create e-commerce listings for MRO parts. Training is extensive and no prior experience is required, making this an accessible entry point into logistics and ecommerce.

You will triage purchases, check in items, prep parts with hand tools, and photograph products for listings while learning our inventory system and processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift experience preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn new software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Triaging purchases and sorting items by value.
• Checking in purchases: cataloging manufacturer, model, condition, quantity.
• Item preparation with hand tools.
• Research and photography for e-commerce listings.
• Inventory: scan items into the inventory system.
• Suggest process improvements and communicate roadblocks.

SIGMA Surplus sells MRO (maintenance, repair, and operation) parts and other manufacturing components to customers across a variety of industries. Job Summary:

This position largely involves sorting products from inbound shipments, itemization of products, and creating e-commerce listings for MRO parts. We work with a wide variety of products and offer extensive training. No prior experience is required!

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Triaging Purchases - Sorting through purchases to separate items of value and organizing them for easy check-in
• Checking In Purchases - Cataloging manufacturer, model number, condition, and quantity of items associated with purchase orders
• Item Preparation - General breaking down of small parts with hand tools
• Research and photography - performing general research of MRO parts and taking photos to create e-commerce listings
• Inventory - Scanning items into our inventory system
• Process improvement - we’re looking for a good communicator that can notify our leads of roadblocks while identifying ways we can improve our processes

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Proficient typing skills
• Basic computer skills
• Willingness to use new software and navigate user interfaces
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work with others to accomplish goals
• Knowledge of operating basic hand tools is a plus
• Data entry, eCommerce, and photography experience is a plus

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior forklift experience preferred but not required

Physical/Travel Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to frequently lift 25 pounds
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to withstand varying temperatures
