Job summary

PetVet Animal Hospital in Honolulu is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, CVT, or RVT) to join our busy, multi-doctor practice. You will triage patients, assist veterinarians, and deliver high-quality nursing care from intake to discharge in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Current LVT, CVT, or RVT credential in good standing.
• Eligibility to practice as a credentialed Veterinary Technician in Hawaii.
• Hands-on experience in a veterinary hospital.
• Commitment to ongoing credential maintenance and continuing education.
• Strong client-education and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and obtain histories, vital signs, and assessments.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and dental procedures.
• Provide compassionate nursing care from intake through discharge.
• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and fluid therapy.
• Obtain diagnostic radiographs and perform in-house lab testing.
• Prepare patients and equipment for surgical and dental procedures.
• Induce and monitor anesthesia and maintain records.
• Educate clients on preventive care and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
