VCA Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists in West Palm Beach, FL seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join the Surgery teams at our 24/7 Emergency & Critical Care service. The role involves anesthesia, surgical prep, radiology, lab work, and patient care in a high-volume specialty setting.

We offer a full-time schedule (four 10-hour shifts) with weekend and holiday rotations and a comprehensive benefits package. Compensation ranges from $24 to $28 per hour, depending on skill and experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in emergency or specialty medicine.
• Several years of experience in general practice.
• Full-time schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate patient care.
• Assess and triage patients.
• Educate clients and families.
• Hospitalization/ICU care management.
• Induce and monitor anesthesia.
• Prepare and assist in surgery.
• Operate radiology equipment and take images.
• Collect laboratory samples and run tests.
• Perform venipuncture and catheterization.
• Pharmacy duties and medication management.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
