Job summary

Veritas Veterinary Partners is seeking a Veterinary Technician for Surgery & Anesthesia in San Rafael, CA. You will support surgeons, manage anesthesia, and provide compassionate nursing care in a busy specialty/emergency setting.

The role requires at least 2 years in a veterinary specialty, RVT or VTS preferred, and a collaborative, patient-focused approach. Schedule Tue–Fri, 10:00am–8:30pm with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary specialty setting.
• RV T or VTS preferred but not required with right candidates.
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and develop long-term relationships.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing appointments and managing clients during their visit.
• Assisting surgeon with in-patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
• Obtaining and processing laboratory samples (blood, urine, fluids, FNA).
• Utilizing imaging modalities (radiography, CT) for patient assessment.
• Administering, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia.
• Accurately calculating and delivering anesthetic agents, fluids, and CRIs.
• Reviewing medical records pertinent to patient care.
• Providing empathetic nursing care and strong client service during hospitalization.
• Maintaining equipment and ensuring safety of patients.
• Educating clients on post-operative care and medications.
• Occasional holidays and OT as needed.
