Job summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a Registered Nurse for 8South in Los Angeles to deliver specialized inpatient care on a surgical unit. You will apply nursing processes to adult patients, administer medications, educate patients, and document care to ensure safety and quality outcomes.

The role requires a BSN or higher, California RN license, and 3 years of acute care experience with ability to handle diverse populations and emergent situations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN or higher preferred.
• Minimum 3 years recent acute RN experience in specialty.
• Meets clinical criteria and protocol for Clinical Nurse assigned level.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and therapeutic agents necessary to implement treatment, disease prevention, or rehabilitative plan of care.
• Provide patient education on disease prevention and restorative measures.
• Document direct and indirect patient care services in a timely manner to ensure safety and comfort of patients.
• Perform skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy and initiate peripheral venous access.
• Observe and assess signs and symptoms of illness and reactions to medications; initiate emergency procedures when indicated.
• Plan and implement individualized patient care based on observations; report and refer as needed.
• Identify patients' readiness for learning and obtain informed consent while considering age and developmental factors.
• Demonstrate ability to adapt care for diverse cultural, spiritual, age, psychosocial, and other needs.
• Intervene to provide a safe environment and evaluate effectiveness of interventions.
