Job summary

St. David's Round Rock Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the nursing team in a busy surgical trauma setting. You will assist with vital signs, mobility, and daily patient needs, helping to create a safe, welcoming environment for those under care.

You will work closely with RNs to monitor conditions, carry out care plans, and maintain clean, stocked patient areas. BLS is required within 30 days of start date; the facility offers comprehensive benefits and education

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality
