University of Iowa Health Care seeks Patient Care Technicians for the Surgical & Trauma Care Unit in Iowa City. The team cares for trauma and surgical patients, focusing on compassionate, patient-centered care under Registered Nurses. 90% time, 36 hours weekly, day shifts with weekend/holiday rotations, on-campus work.

Responsibilities include vital signs, aseptic duties, discharge support, and patient comfort. Minimum eligibility requires basic reading/writing skills; background check applies.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and follow instructions.
• Demonstrates compassionate, patient-centered care.
• Ability to collaborate with nursing staff and physicians.

Responsabilités

• Independently record and monitor vital signs (temp, pulse, respiration, BP).
• Perform basic aseptic skills including phlebotomy and IV/ Foley care as directed.
• Support patient admission, transfers and discharges under RN supervision.
