Job summary

MCC Holdings Group LLC is seeking a Program Director for its Surgical Technology program to provide leadership, oversight, and program evaluation. The role ensures curriculum currency, accreditation compliance (CAAHEP/ARC-STSA), and prepares students for certification and career success.

The director will recruit and mentor instructors, oversee instruction and assessment, manage accreditation reporting, and coordinate program reviews and advisory activities to align with workforce needs.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a nationally programmatically accredited Surgical Technology program is required.
  • Associate degree in Surgical Technology is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Current CST certification through an NCCA-accredited agency is required.
  • Minimum of five years in the past ten years, including OR scrub experience or teaching Surgical Technology, or a combination.
  • Experience as Program Director, Clinical Coordinator, or Lead Instructor is preferred.
  • Experience with CAAHEP/ARC-STSA accreditation processes is preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration with students, faculty, staff, clinical partners, and employers.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage multiple priorities, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Interview, hire, onboard, and train instructors for Surgical Technology courses.
  • Manage instructor schedules, teaching assignments, and workloads; assist with course scheduling and logistics.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to instructors on curriculum delivery and methods.
  • Observe and evaluate instructors and laboratory staff using established tools.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and faculty performance standards in the Faculty Handbook.
  • Maintain teaching assignments and serve as substitute instructor when needed.
  • Support SOP and In-Service meetings for academic initiatives.
  • Oversee curriculum alignment with industry standards and accreditation expectations.
  • Coordinate Program Review, Curriculum Review, and Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Evaluate curriculum effectiveness and recommend revisions based on accreditation and outcomes.
  • Maintain accreditation reports, documentation, and outcomes data.
  • Ensure FERPA compliance and protection of student records.
  • Monitor student success metrics and implement retention and certification strategies.
  • Coordinate co-curricular activities to support student success.
  • Develop partnerships with healthcare employers and clinical sites.
  • Represent the program at institutional, community, and professional events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior leadership.
