Job summary

Southwest University is seeking a dependable and organized Surgical Technology Laboratory Assistant to support our Surgical Technology Program. This in-person role assists faculty with daily lab operations and maintains a clean, safe learning environment for students.

The position involves preparing the lab for classes, organizing instruments and supplies, monitoring inventory, and assisting with setup, activities, and safety. Requires Associate degree and healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• Surgical Technology education or related healthcare experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work well with students and faculty.
• Ability to lift, move, and organize laboratory supplies and equipment.
• Dependable, professional, and able to follow established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the lab for classes, skills practice, and simulations.
• Organize and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering and restocking supplies.
• Assist with lab setup, cleanup, and room turnover.
• Support students with proper use of lab equipment under faculty direction.
• Assist faculty during lab activities, competencies, and simulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
• Report equipment issues, supply shortages, or safety concerns.
