Job summary

MercyOne Genesis in the Davenport, IA area is hiring a Surgical Technician to support intraoperative patient care as part of the scrub team under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.

The role is full-time, 36 hours per week with days shifts; on-call nights, weekends, and holidays may be required. Requires educational credentials in surgical technology or equivalent experience; CST is preferred but not required in Iowa; BLS is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or LPN with surgical experience.
• CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa; must be obtained within 18 months if working in Illinois.
• BLS certification is mandatory.
• Ability to work under pressure and with independence in a diverse team.

We are looking to hire a Surgical Technician. The Surgical Technician functions in the scrub role during intraoperative patient care, doing so as a delegated technical function under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. The provision of care is consistent through adherence to standards and support of the philosophies of Genesis Medical Center.

Schedule

• Full‑time, 36 hours per week
• Shift: Days
• On call rotation will be required for nights, weekends, and holidays

General Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology; completion of surgical tech apprenticeship or military program.
• Or graduate of an LPN program with Surgical experience; or equivalent experience to demonstrate competency.
• CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa. CST certification is required within 18‑months of hire, if working in Illinois. LPN license is required if you are a graduate of an LPN program.
• No prior experience is required.
• BLS. Mandatory Reporter.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people; ability to work under pressure and with a large degree of independence and accountability; and the ability to accept responsibility for the direction, control or planning of an activity.
• Adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
