Job summary

Tampa General Hospital seeks a Surgical Technologist Team Lead for the CVTOR department. Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist training program.
  • Active CST Certification from AST or NCCT.
  • Completion of Hospital-Based Surgical Tech Program or equivalent qualifications.

Surgical Technologist Team Lead, CVTOR - (250000L1)

Description

Under the general supervision of medical and nursing staff, following policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, the surgical technologist assists with surgical and endoscopy procedures, provides, assembles, and cares for surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment before, during, and after procedures. The technologist also assists with cleaning, restocking, and processing of the surgical suite, instruments, and equipment as needed. They identify and report situations requiring intervention to the RN or Clinician. Additionally, they serve as a clinical preceptor for new OR scrub tech and OR technician students and act as a resource person in at least five surgical specialty areas.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist training program with active and maintained CST Certification from AST or NCCT. Completion of a Hospital-Based Surgical Tech Program plus 10 years, Associate’s Degree program plus 2 years required, or equivalent Military qualifications. 4 years preferred; other non-Associate’s Degree program plus 5 years.
