Job summary

You will implement and monitor patient care plans, assist with surgical operations, and collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure safe, effective discharge planning. NBSTSA certification and BLS are required, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program required.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross obtained prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to assess patients and provide individualized care.
• Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel to meet patients' needs.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds with input to outcomes.

Education

NBSTSA certification

Graduate of accredited surgical technologist program

BLS Provider credential (AHA or Red Cross)
