Job summary

UPMC Somerset is seeking a full-time Surgical Technologist to support our Operating Room and GI departments. The role requires preparing sterile setups, passing instruments, assisting in draping, and helping in the cleanup and turnover of the OR.

A rotating 10-hour shift with on-call duties is included, and a sign-on bonus up to $25,000 is available based on experience. Candidates must complete an accredited program and be certified as CST or TSC, with CPR per AHA standards and the ability to

Qualifications

• CPR required based on AHA standards with skills demonstration within 30 days of hire.
• Certification: CST or TSC within 6 months of program completion.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by setting up instruments, drapes and supplies.
• Assist surgical team by passing instruments, retractors, and sponges during procedures.
• Assist in patient positioning, draping, and transfer to recovery.
• Maintain aseptic technique and restock supplies post-operation.
• Ensure medications are labeled and handed to surgeon per policy.
