Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Surgical Technologist in Everett, WA to support preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient care within the OR team. The role requires strict sterile technique and collaboration with surgeons and staff to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Responsibilities include preparing the OR, maintaining sterile fields, assisting with instrumentation and supplies, and ensuring readiness for the next case.

Qualifications

• Current WA State Surgical Technologist Registration (ST) or ability to obtain by start date.
• Current AHA/BLS Certification.
• 2+ years of experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting or a busy multi-specialty ASC.

Responsibilities

• Preoperative Case Management
• Don operating room attire and PPE
• Prepare the OR
• Gather necessary equipment and supplies
• Create and maintain the sterile field
• Perform a surgical scrub and don sterile gown and gloves
• Organize the sterile field for use
• Count necessary items
• Assist team members during entry of the sterile field
• Expose the operative site with sterile drapes
• Intraoperative Case Management
• Maintain the sterile field
• Pass instrumentation, equipment, and supplies to the surgeon and surgical assistant as needed
• Assess and predict patient and surgeon needs and provide necessary items in order
• Medication preparation and handling
• Specimen care
• Dressing application
• Postoperative Case Management
• Maintenance of the sterile field until patient transport
• Removal of used instruments and supplies from the OR
• Care and maintenance of instruments and supplies following use
• Prepare the OR for the next patient
• Perform other duties as assigned, including supply orders and rotation to CSSD
